Registration for the 14. Ranshofener Leichtmetalltage 2026 (14th Ranshofen Light Metal Days) is now open. For the 14th time, the LKR Leichtmetallkompetenzzentrum Ranshofen of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology is inviting the light metal industry to a two-day professional exchange in Saalfelden. The event will take place on 4 and 5 November 2026 at Gut Brandlhof and is entitled “Economical, Sustainable & Resilient Lightweighting: Circular Design and Smart Processes”. For the first time, the conference will be held entirely in English.

International platform for research and industry

The conference will focus on current developments in digitalisation and decarbonisation within process and materials development, as well as in the characterisation of light metals. The Ranshofener Leichtmetalltage have established a position as a recognised platform for exchange between research and industry in the DACH region and beyond. Around 120 participants from the worlds of science and industry are expected to attend. The programme includes two days of conferences with three thematic sessions and around 20 specialist presentations and keynote speeches, an industry and poster exhibition, an expert panel discussion, plenary pitch sessions and an evening event.

The programme covers a wide range of topics, from “Digitalisation in the Context of Circularity” and “Sustainable Process Design” to “Innovative Light Metals and Their Characterisation”. Keynote presentations include contributions from Ulf Sjöström (Ferro Arcum AB, Sweden) on recycling and aluminium production residues, from Martin Jackson (University of Sheffield, UK) and Thomas Klein (LKR) on sustainable hybrid manufacturing of titanium structures, and from Evgeniya Kabliman (University of Bremen and Leibniz Institute for Materials Engineering – IWT) on innovative approaches in materials design.

Early-bird prices until 31 July 2026

Early-bird tickets are now available until 31 July 2026. The reduced price for standard participants is €735 without accommodation, €900 including one night’s accommodation, and €1,065 including two nights’ accommodation. Discounted tickets are also available for students. The ticket price includes participation in the conference, on-site catering, the evening event and – depending on the ticket category – one or two nights’ accommodation. Tickets including accommodation are subject to limited availability; they can be booked until 31 August 2026, subject to availability.

Sponsorship and exhibition opportunities for companies

The conference also offers companies attractive opportunities to establish a presence at the event. Sponsors and exhibitors can showcase their products, technologies and services to a highly qualified specialist audience. A range of sponsorship and exhibition packages are available for this purpose – from logo placement to comprehensive partner packages including exhibition space and a pitch slot.

The 14. Ranshofener Leichtmetalltage 2026 will thus once again provide a high-calibre setting for technical discussions, new collaborations and the exchange of ideas on future issues in lightweighting.
