eustella is based at the AI:AT Coworking Hub and forms part of an ecosystem that brings together start-ups, deep-tech companies, research institutions, industry and the public sector. The launch highlights the role that physical proximity, a neutral approach, technical expertise and European infrastructure can play in the implementation of sovereign AI applications.
“eustella demonstrates what can be achieved when AI expertise, sovereign infrastructure and a strong ecosystem work together. This is precisely why the AI Factory Austria AI:AT was established: we provide access to expertise, guidance, infrastructure pathways and partners. The fact that a start-up based in our co-working hub is bringing a European AI solution to market sends a strong signal about the location.”
Karl Kugler, Co-Lead, AI Factory Austria AI:AT
“The market isn’t waiting for tomorrow’s perfect solution; it needs today’s confident solution,” he said. “With eustella, it is now available to everyone who no longer wants to compromise on data protection.”
Matteo Rosoli, CEO of eustella
From idea to application
AI Factory Austria AI:AT sees itself as a one-stop shop for AI in Austria and as a gateway to the European AI Factories network. Its services range from impartial initial guidance, use-case identification and PoC support, through to AI implementation, data analytics, data processing and trustworthy AI services, as well as training, workshops, matchmaking, access to funding and market access. The co-working hub serves as the physical entry point for the community, knowledge exchange and practical implementation.
“Sovereign AI does not arise from models alone, but through the interplay of infrastructure, data, security and implementation expertise. The launch of eustella highlights why Europe needs its own capable AI ecosystems. AI:AT lowers the barriers to entry – from access to European computing resources to technical support for ambitious AI projects.”
Markus Stöhr, Co-Lead, AI Factory Austria AI:AT
This creates an additional lever, particularly for start-ups and spin-offs: they not only gain a space to work, but also access to expertise, potential partners, talent, European infrastructure offerings and visibility within the ecosystem. In this way, AI:AT supports companies throughout their entire AI journey – from the initial idea through pilot projects to scaling up.
AI:AT as an ecosystem lever
The eustella launch exemplifies just how important a functioning interplay of start-up dynamism, access to infrastructure, trustworthy AI development, community and market access is. This is precisely where AI:AT comes in: as an independent platform that provides guidance, brings stakeholders together and accelerates the transfer of AI expertise into concrete applications.
“For AI:AT, eustella is a powerful example of how visibility, community and the right environment accelerate innovation. Our co-working hub is more than just a workplace: it makes AI stakeholders discoverable, brings partners together and helps to develop a credible market narrative for European AI based on technological substance.”
Daniel Pepl, Head of Marketing & Communications, AI Factory Austria AI:AT
