AIT coordinates Europe's largest graduate survey

EUROGRADUATE 2026 – harmonised data in Europe's higher education area

EUROGRADUATE 2026 marks the next major step towards Europe-wide coordinated graduate tracking. Based on EUROGRADUATE 2022, harmonised country data will be created as a solid basis for comparable analyses of employability, job satisfaction, skills matching, learning and working mobility, and career paths. Integration into the data infrastructure of the European Higher Education Sector Observatory (EHESO) will provide decision-makers bundled information for evidence-based policy-making.

Knowledge Institutions as catalysers for local action towards climate neutral cities

AIT coordinates EU Project „Catalyse“

CATALYSE is a Horizon Europe project funded by the European Commission and coordinated by AIT Austrian Institute of Technology that supports European cities in their endeavour to become climate neutral. Moving beyond fragmented experimentations, the project anchors mission-oriented policies in local contexts and leverages the role of Knowledge Institutions (KIs) as hubs and trusted actors within innovation ecosystems.

AIT supports EU in shaping the future of democracy

Together with 10 partners, the AIT is coordinating "YouthDecide 2040", a project on the future of democracy in the EU. Citizens from all generations and politicians are jointly shaping desirable futures for 2040, combining democracy research and participatory futurology in order to master current social and technological challenges. After all, stable political framework conditions have a positive effect on economic development.

NEEDS Repowered unites cities for a secure energy future

The NEEDS Repowered project networks six European cities to make them more resilient to energy crises and avoid energy poverty. Led by AIT, Innsbruck, Karlsruhe, Krakow, Iași, Budaörs and Helsingborg are working together to strengthen the resilience of positive energy neighbourhoods - urban districts that generate more renewable energy than they consume. It is part of the Driving Urban Transitions partnership and is co-funded by the EU.

AIT advises European Commission on future issues

Under the leadership of the AIT Austrian Institute of Technology, the Foresight-on-Demand (FOD) consortium is advising the European Commission and fourteen other EU organisations on science and technology programming for a further period. The extension of the successful cooperation in the Foresight-on-Demand framework agreement enables the European Commission to promptly call up required future knowledge and build up anticipatory capacities in its own organisations. Knowledge is developed in participatory processes to orientate and underpin Europe's investment plans for science, research, technology and innovation. Results from previous Foresight-on-Demand projects supported, for example, the design of the EU Commission's "Horizon Europe 2nd Strategic plan 2025-2027".
