From 30 May to 5 June, Vienna will become an international hub for robotics: with the Festival of Robots at Karlsplatz (30–31 May) and ICRA 2026, the world’s leading robotics conference at Messe Wien (1–5 June), the spotlight will be on robotics as a key industrial technology. The AIT Austrian Institute of Technology will not only be presenting cutting-edge research at ICRA, but will also be showcasing autonomous machines live to the general public for the first time at the festival – as “powerful helpers” for industry, logistics, forestry, agriculture and the construction sector – and inviting the media, businesses, families and decision-makers to engage in dialogue.

Innovative Solutions for Construction, Logistics, Forestry, and Agriculture: At AIT, researchers are developing key technologies for the autonomous machines and robots of the future. These pioneering technologies will be showcased on May 30–31, 2026, at the “Festival der Roboter” in Vienna’s Karlsplatz.

On 15 May 2025, the AIT hosted an exclusive Demo Day at the Large-Scale Robotics Lab (LSRL) in Seibersdorf. Partners from industry, research and other stakeholders were given practical insights into the latest developments in autonomous machines for construction, forestry and logistics. With live demos, specialist presentations and an interactive exhibition, the AIT presented itself as a central innovation hub for outdoor large-scale robotics.
